A bathroom inspired by luxury Parisian hotel!

For this master bathroom remodel, the inspiration was a luxury Parisian hotel! The vibe that we strived for was glamour and streamlined opulence, which was achieved through the use of the marble slabs, opulent bathroom fixtures and the metallic leopard-print wallpaper (in the water closet). Ooh la, la!

Stylish Bar

To create a stylish bar that would be perfect for entertaining guests impressively, we custom designed this built-in cabinet with slate blue lacquer finish and stripe mamara marble countertop.

Below are additional tips on how to get the look.

Cabinet design:

  • A mirrored back and floating glass shelves give a sense of lightness in the design.
  • Decorative pulls add a nice design accent to the function of doors.
  • Cabinet lighting (though not lit here) makes the display feel more special.

Styling tips:

  • Arrange stemware and wine bottles like a retail display (I cluster similar items as groups and leave some breathing space between them).
  • Pretty bowls to hold nuts and chocolates.

Beach Style!

Revealing a recently completed beach house! The result of 1½ years of designing and planning this extensive remodel and decorating project. Thrilled to have Joe Schmelzer, who shot my VogueIndia feature a few years ago, photograph it.9.18-IG 5

A Luxury Optometrist Office & Retail Boutique

Here’s a sneak peak into a recently completed project, Eyes on the Bloc, a luxury optometrist office and retail boutique at The BLOC in Downtown Los Angeles.

1

A clean, minimalist design was created, punctuated by artwork with optical references as a nod to the practice’s commitment of investing in the latest technology in optometry and the principal’s passion for art. The neutral color palette creates a welcoming shopping experience, while the placement of optical artwork adds just the right amount of drama and color. The striking eye mosaic panel curated by Ikonlogy Studios.

2

Every corner of the store was thoughtfully designed around the experience of the customer, including the bright, back wall, which was fitted with back-lit displays. This wall display transforms an often ordinary and common design piece seen in most optometrist offices into a striking focal piece for the space, highlighting the products, while giving customers the highest level of ease and efficiency while shopping.

If you’re in Downtown Los Angeles make sure to stop by Eyes on the Bloc, which offers full-service eye care and a fabulous selection of designer eyewear,

Creating a Glamorous & Peaceful Master Bedroom!

For a master bedroom in a Newport Coast mansion, we gave it a glamorous and peaceful vibe by layering in shades of grey, taupe and luxurious textures. The crisp white against the tonal colors and the different finishes and textures are important in making this an inviting and stylish room.

Shimmering taupe wallpaper in a color coordinating with the ultrasuede tufted headboard creates a rich visual depth.   While a pair of large large silky shag rugs make the bedroom enticing and cozy.

Version 2

At the window niche overlooking a garden, we felt a custom daybed (designed by Seyie Design) fitting the window niche perfectly would be the best way to enjoy this space. Using a combination of silk and velvet fabrics in different shades of grey created plush seating to enjoy a book or snuggle.

A Shopping Dream!

Christmas arrived a little early this year with a shopping spree gift from Vogue Magazine and Bally, to shop at the newly designed Rodeo Drive boutique in Beverly Hills! Thank you Bally and Vogue Magazine for your generosity, hospitality and amazing time. It was truly a memorable experience to get a private tour of the new boutique and a personalized viewing of the current fashion collection.

I loved the chic shoes, bags, and of course the new boutique design!
